Transportation and Green, a winning combination as these three events will confirm:
The Coalition for the Advancement of Regional Transportation will hold their annual meeting on Monday August 23rd. Dr. Jerry G. Rose, who is a professor at UK will talk about Advantages of passenger rail transportation and use of same track for freight trains. The meeting is at Mid City Mall in the Highlands Shelby Park Library from 6 to 8 pm.
Friday night is movie night at the Bicycling for Louisville office. Another bike centric movie is on tap as a showing of the Goonies will occur. Park your bike out in the front while the movie plays out back. The office is at 2132 Frankfort Avenue.
On Saturday, the homegrown green theme occurs with a Fresh Start Growers’ Food Swap from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Any extra homegrown produce can be swapped or donated to charity. The event is at Fresh Start Growers’ Supply at 1007 East Jefferson Street.
